Important Notice:
If you currently own or are considering our legacy PureMaster V-750 system, we proudly recommend our more advanced PureMaster V-700 system which supersedes the V-750. The V-700 was designed to outperform the V-750 since it utilizes several times more of the two main workhorse media similarly used in the V-750. Unlike the V-750, since the V-700 requires less manufacturing complexity, you will pay less for your initial system and in the future for your optional replacement media or replacement tank with media. Therefore, the V-700 is the best value system that we offer in terms of performance capability and price.

Q:
What
is the difference between the PureMaster™ V-750 and our previous
whole house systems?
A: We
are no longer manufacturing or selling our previous Equinox
Premium whole house water filtration system. Our previous
whole house water filtration system utilized two (2) blue tanks
in a vertical stacked configuration. Our PureMaster™
V-750 easily replaces the older whole house water filtration
systems previously sold by Vitasalus/Equinox Products, including
3 yr./300,000 gal. or 5 yr./400,000 gal. Equinox Premium whole
house water filtration systems. The higher-capacity
PureMaster™ V-750 is ONLY available Factory Direct through
Vitasalus/Equinox Products and was developed in a continued
effort to keep up with the increased water contaminants, latest
water filtration technology, and media advancements.
Ultimately, our goal is to provide the highest quality system on
the market at the most affordable price. Because we've
incorporated more water filtration media (now premium-grade)
along with advanced proprietary media layering techniques to our
PureMaster™ V-750, it is designed to address even more
contaminants and perform for approx. 750,000 gallons or over 7 years. The older, lower-capacity systems sold by
Vitasalus/Equinox Products were only designed to perform for
either 300,000 gallons/3 years or 400,000 gallons/5 years.

Q: How long
does the PureMaster™ V-750 Whole House System last?
A: The unit
is designed to be used for about 750,000 gallons or over 7 years, whichever occurs
first. The saturation of the media by contaminants may occur faster in different
areas depending upon the condition of the water and the actual amount of
water run through the filter on a daily basis. Generally, it is
recommended that the unit be replaced when there is a noticeable return
of off-tastes or odors and/or noticeable drop in
water pressure (assuming a reasonably clean .35-micron prefilter is
currently in use).
Q: How does
the PureMaster™ V-750 Premium Whole House Water Filtration System work?
A: Unlike other
lower quality systems on the market, the factory-direct PureMaster™ V-750
system
is completely loaded with over 65 pounds of NSF®
certified high-grade media designed/developed to
completely
remove or significantly reduce Chlorine, Chloramine/Chloramines, sediment and/or
particulate matter, cysts, copepods, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs),
Synthetic Organic Compounds (SOCs), THMs (Chlorine by-product), PAHs (Chloramine
by-product), trace heavy metals (i.e. lead, mercury, or iron), MTBEs,
atrazine, benzene, xylene, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides,
tastes, odors and hundreds of other potential contaminants and harmful
chemicals from the water entering your home.
The
PureMaster™ V-750 utilizes a proprietary, patent-pending system design which facilitates an advanced water filtration process
consisting of 7-Stages generally described below. |

Down-Flow vs. Up-Flow Design:
The PureMaster V-750's
Down-Flow design does not require backwashing and is superior to the competitions Up-Flow design because of our premium
NSF®
certified
media,
tank-wide base-screen and advanced, proprietary media-layering technique.
The V-750 is uniquely engineered with a patent-pending tank-wide
base-screen that outperforms bottom-basket technology by
leaps-and-bounds and allows the water flowing down through the
system to have even-distribution and maximum contact time with
all our media bed layers without channeling. This
superior capability is unmatched by the Up-Flow design offered
by many of our competitors because of the limiting functionality
of their older riser-tube and basket technology. Customers
can truly buy with confidence knowing that they will enjoy zero water pressure-loss and maximum contaminant reduction
from the V-750 for 7-10 years.

Shell Granular Activated Carbon, Virgin Bituminous Coal
Based Granular Activated Carbon, and Certified Natural
Pumice. System
design also incorporates the latest advancements in
filtration media technology and proprietary media layering
techniques. The
V-750 is designed to be used for about 750,000 gallons or
over 7 years, whichever occurs

|
Stage
1 (Pre-Filtration):
The sediment prefilter uses a replaceable cartridge
that mechanically filters copepods,
cysts and sediment and/or particulate matter down to 0.35-microns.
This important first stage filters the sediment or
particulate that may be present in the water supply so that it doesn't clog the main filter and reduce water
flow and/or filter life. Another key benefit to
.35-micron prefiltration is that it removes the smaller
matter and particles that would otherwise either clog the
system or pass through and possibly be undesirably
consumed. |
Stage 2
(Redox Potential Filtration):
Patented and NSF®
certified granular media KDF® is used to
create an active filtration
method for heavy metals, possessing a characteristic known
as redox potential, which can alter the molecular
structure of inorganic elements by exchanging electrons with contaminants. The give and take of
electrons changes many contaminants into harmless
components, such as chlorine to chloride. |
Stage 3
(Macro Filtration - Phase I):
Contains a high grade, large-granule NSF®
certified Certified
Natural Pumice and Virgin Coconut Shell Granular Activated
Carbon for additional absorptive capacity of
certain particulate, impurities and contaminants. |
Stage
4 (Macro Filtration - Phase II):
Contains a high grade, large-granule NSF®
certified Virgin
Bituminous Coal Based Granular Activated Carbon for
additional absorptive capacity of certain
impurities and contaminants. |
Stage
5 (Micro Filtration - Phase I):
Contains a high grade, mid-granule NSF®
certified Virgin
Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon
for additional absorptive capacity of certain
impurities and contaminants. |
Stage
6 (Micro Filtration - Phase II):
Contains a high grade, small-granule NSF®
certified Virgin
Bituminous Coal Based Granular Activated Carbon for
additional absorptive capacity of certain
impurities and contaminants. |
Stage
7 (Sub-Micro Filtration):
Contains a high grade, small-granule NSF®
certified Enhanced
Catalytic Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon for an
vastly expanded surface and porosity which provides the
highest reaction kinetics and absorptive capacity for
impurities and contaminants. |
Q:
How often should I change the 0.35-micron prefilter on my PureMaster™ V-750
system?
A: Approximately every
6
months, depending upon the actual amount of sediment or
particulate matter present in your water supply. Because the 0.35-micron prefilter
(white in color when first installed) is in
a clear screw-on prefilter canister, it can easily be visually checked
for dirtiness or build-up of sediment or particulate matter.
Typically, when a 0.35-micron prefilter is extremely dirty, there will be
a noticeable drop in water pressure through the PureMaster™ V-750
system since
the water is no longer able to properly flow through it.
Q: Does
the PureMaster™ V-750 remove COPEPODS from the water?
A: Yes. Since COPEPODES range from 30
microns to 50 microns in size, the V-750 0.35-micron
(sub 1-micron) prefilter will
remove the COPEPODS. This method of COPEPODS filtration is
approved based on the article found at http://www.oukosher.org
via the below link:
http://www.oukosher.org/index.php?/articles/single/ou_fact_sheet_on_nyc_water_august_13_2004/
Q: How
much space does the complete PureMaster™ V-750 installation typically require?
A:
Requires
minimal installation space, an area approximately 6-feet high by
3-feet wide by 1-foot deep.
Q: Where
should the complete PureMaster™ V-750 system be installed?
A:
The
PureMaster™ V-750 system is a Point-of-Entry (POE) system, or whole-house/whole
home system, and is usually installed, just after the water meter, in
your basement, garage, or water heater closet. NOTE:
The water meter is usually located in the basement of the house. In
warm weather climates, the water meter may be in the garage or outside
of the house. If the PureMaster™ V-750 system is installed outdoors in warm
weather climates, it should be adequately shaded to prevent excessive
sunlight/heat exposure.
Q: How
difficult is it to install the complete PureMaster™ V-750 system?
A: The
PureMaster™ V-750 system will be shipped
Pre-Assembled (tanks come pre-loaded with special media) and
Ready-To-Install which greatly simplifies the installation process
and significantly reduces installation time and cost.
The installation of the PureMaster™ V-750 system, using the included installation
instructions, is simple and straight-forward and should be preformed
by a licensed plumber to insure proper installation and to validate
the system warranty. Also, you or your plumber may contact our
knowledgeable Customer Service & Support Representatives, if any
questions arise regarding the installation or maintenance of your PureMaster™ V-750
system.
Q: How
much does it cost to install the complete PureMaster™ V-750 system?
A:
The PureMaster™ V-750
system should be installed by a licensed plumber
to insure proper installation and to validate
the system warranty. The typical PureMaster™ V-750
installation time is 1-2 hours and costs approximately $150 to $250
(NOTE: Actual cost depends upon your local plumbing rates).
Q: How
much maintenance is required for my PureMaster™ V-750 system?
A:
Typically,
the only maintenance required for the PureMaster™ V-750 system is
0.3 5-micron
prefilter replacement. The
PureMaster™ V-750 system is designed to be virtually maintenance-free for the
life of the system.
Q: How
do I replace my existing V-750 system after it is used up?
A: Some companies in the marketplace burden the
consumer with the difficult, time-consuming and potentially costly
task of empting the old, dirty media from the used-up system tank,
sanitizing the system tank for health-concerns and pouring in new
media. Ultimately, we save you health and plumbing risks, time,
hassle and money by offering you a completely new Ready-To-Install
replacement system. The PureMaster™ V-750
system
easily replaces any older V-750's. It
is a simple matter of swapping out the old V-750 system "blue
tank unit" with the new, Pre-Assembled (tanks come pre-loaded with
advanced, special layered media)
PureMaster™ V-750 replacement system "blue
tank unit". The
PureMaster™ V-750 replacement system
can be installed by the home-owner or anyone with very basic
plumbing experience to
insure proper installation necessary to validate the system warranty.
The
typical PureMaster™ V-750 system replacement time is
about 1 hour and
costs approximately $75 to $150 (NOTE: Actual cost depends
upon your local plumbing rates). |
We
want to alert consumers that some companies
are pitching a Replacement Media option (i.e., one or
more bags of replacement media) in an attempt to lure
unsuspecting consumers into
buying the company's initial complete system, thinking that they will save
money, time and effort over the long-run.
Unfortunately, when it actually comes time to replace the media the consumer may be left "holding the bag" and
end up facing potential health risks along with spending more
money, personal time and inconvenience. Moreover, if the consumer decides to pay a plumber to handle the
complete media replacement process, besides the potential health
risks, the overall cost may end up being 2 to 3 times more than the
advertised cost of the Replacement Media.
It is important to know that the proper process of emptying the tank,
tank cleaning and disinfection, and pouring or layering of media is a
laborious, time consuming and risky process.
In reality, there are several potential challenges and health risks for the following reasons:
1) Unit may weigh over 150 pounds, with water and
saturated media when it expires, making it very challenging for
the average person to handle and manipulate when performing the
proper media replacement process;
2) Unit may end up not being properly emptied, cleaned and
disinfected;
3) Expired media may contain concentrations of
certain contaminants unhealthy for human contact;
4) Bacteria or other contaminants may be introduced into the
unit during the refill process;
and
5) Replacement Media may end up not being
poured and/or layered properly causing the unit to be less effective or
even ineffective.
There are other concerns with messy media spills and affected performance due to the media loss incurred from media spills during
the pouring process.
If the consumer decides to pay a plumber to handle the refill process, the overall cost
may end up being 2 to 3 times more than the cost of the
Replacement Media and may still be
susceptible to the same potential health risks previously mentioned
above.
It is also interesting to consider that the cost of the initial
complete system is between $600 - $1500.
One may wonder about the questionable value of the media itself given that the cost of the
Replacement Media is only a small fraction (i.e., between
$150 to $450) of the cost of the initial complete system. We are proud to
say that the 7 Stages of media that goes into our
PureMaster™ V-750 (with 7+ years or
750,000 gallons capacity) represents the majority cost of both our
Complete System or Replacement Unit.
Therefore, we do not use or recommend the Replacement Media
approach. Instead, we provide our existing customers with
a Pre-loaded and Ready-to-Install
Replacement Unit that can quickly and easily replace their old
unit simply by sliding out the old and sliding in the new with
our easy PVC connectors.
The best aspect of our Replacement Unit approach is that the
home-owner or anyone with very basic plumbing experience can handle the simple replacement process;
they can also have great confidence that when the process is completed that their new
Replacement Unit will work properly
without any of the previously mentioned potential challenges and
health risks. |

"Hello John, I received my PureMaster V-750 Whole Home Water Filtration System filter kit and it has been installed.
All is working well. I didn't get a plumber to install.
I am a licensed major appliance service tech for big box store here in Calgary. Been doing this for 34 years.
I had no problem with the installation of the filter kit...The water quality is #1.
Very pleased. Thanks in advance,"
Heinz M., Calgary, Alberta (AB), Canada
"We recently (November 2007) bought the PureMaster V-750 and FluorideMaster Whole House Water Filters, and we are very pleased with them.
It is so nice not having to bother with the [other point-of-use] faucet and shower filters we were using before...Thanks for your great products and sharing your expertise!"

you."
Arthur D.,
Anderson, South Carolina (SC)
"Installed the V-750 system on the main water line last June 16th., the difference in taste and clarity of the water is quite
surprising...very satisfied with the product.
Expecting acceptable water for the next ten years."
Charles E.,
Green Valley, Arizona (AZ)
"We have lived in a very rural setting for the last 15 years.
Our spring, which is very productive, has always been unusable for drinking or cooking due to poor taste caused by brine and other byproducts of oil and gas wells adjacent the property. I had been hauling gallon jugs of water from my workplace for all these years. Then we bought the incredibly affordable
PureMaster V-750 whole house filtering system. At a fraction of the cost of a reverse osmosis system, this unit has transformed this horrible water into good tasting water that can be accessed from our tap. We can't tell you how pleased and amazed we are at the transformation that has occurred as a result of the installing of this extremely affordable and effective system!"
Kyle D.,
Malta, Ohio (OH)
"The
PureMaster V-750 whole house water filtration
system works fine and the water is absolutely
wonderful. Thank you again."
Ioanis P.,
New York, New York (NY)
"We
moved to a home with water supplied by the local
municipality. The water smelled to high heaven
of chlorine (as if someone had filled the sink with
bleach) and we vowed not to move in until we found a
way to take the chlorine out of the water. The
water was also very saturated with particulate
matter. We purchased and installed the Premium
Whole House Water Filtration System and have not
smelled the slightest hint of chlorine or seen any
particulates in the water at all. Thanks
again."
Arthur G.,
Baldwin,
Georgia (GE)
