Q:
What
is the difference between the PureMaster™
V-Series™ (V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™) and our previous older whole house systems?
A: We
are no longer manufacturing or selling our previous Equinox
Premium whole house water filtration system. Our previous
whole house water filtration system utilized two (2) blue tanks
in a vertical stacked configuration. Our PureMaster™
V-Series™ (V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™) systems
easily replaces the older whole house water filtration
systems previously sold by Vitasalus/Equinox Products, including
3 yr./300,000 gal. or 5 yr./400,000 gal. Equinox Premium whole
house water filtration systems. The higher-capacity
PureMaster™ V-Series (V-300, V-500 and V-700)
systems are available Factory Direct through
Vitasalus/Equinox Products and were developed in a continued
effort to keep up with the increased water contaminants, latest
water filtration technology, and media advancements.
Ultimately, our goal is to provide the highest quality system on
the market at the most affordable price. Because we've
incorporated more high-grade water filtration media along with advanced media layering techniques to our PureMaster™
V-Series™ (V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™),
they are designed to address even more
contaminants and perform for approx.: 300,000 gallons or 3 - 5 years
for the V-300; 500,000 gallons or 5 - 7 years for the V-500; and
700,000 gallons or 7 - 10 years for the V-700. The older systems sold by
Vitasalus/Equinox Products were only designed to perform for
either 300,000 gallons/3 years or 400,000 gallons/5 years.
Please refer to the PureMaster™ V-Series (V-300, V-500 and V-700)
Specifications Chart below for more detailed information.. |

* May require a separate
or adjunct specialty system to address the particular water
condition and, if necessary, to protect this system. For
assistance addressing your specific water condition(s), please
contact a Vitasalus Water Systems Specialist.
** The lower end value of the media lifespan range, as specified in the system's specifications chart, is based upon the average annual water usage of a household of 3-4 people. Replace the media or the blue tank with media when the system gallonage capacity is reached or there is a noticeable return of off-tastes and/or odors.
|
Q: How long
do the PureMaster™
V-Series™ (V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™)
Whole House Systems last?
A: The V-300 is designed to perform for 300,000 gallons
or about 3-5 years. The V-500 is designed to perform for 500,000 gallons
or about 5-7 years. The V-700 is designed to perform for 700,000 gallons
or about 7-10 years. The saturation of the media by contaminants may occur faster in different areas depending upon the condition of the water and the actual amount of water run through the filter on a daily basis. Generally, it is recommended that the unit be replaced when there is a noticeable return of off-tastes or odors and/or noticeable drop in water pressure (assuming a reasonably clean 0.35-micron prefilter is currently in
use).
Q: How does
the PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
Premium Whole House Water Filtration System work?
A: Unlike other
lower quality systems on the market, our factory-direct PureMaster
V-300, V-500 and V-700
systems are loaded with NSF®
certified high-grade media designed to
effectively filter chlorine,
chloramine/chloramines, sediment and/or
particulate matter, cysts, copepods, Volatile VOCs, SOCs, THMs, PAHs, PFCs, PFOAs, C8, GenX, PFNAs, PFOS, PFAS, PFEAs, PFCAs, PFSAs, PFBS, HAA, HAA5, TCE, PCB, MTBE, pharmaceutical drug residues, glyphosate, benzene, xylene, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides,
tastes, odors and hundreds of other potential contaminants and harmful
chemicals from the water entering your home.
The
PureMaster
V-300, V-500 and V-700
utilize a specialized system design which facilitates an advanced
3-Stage water filtration process generally illustrated
and described further below. |

PureMaster
vs. Our Competitors?
Compared to most of our competitors, our systems contain 2 to 4 times more
water filtration media which means that
our customers may enjoy even cleaner, better
tasting and healthier water at every tap. Beware of
companies that withhold a lot of details upfront. |
The PureMaster™ V-Series (V-300, V-500 and V-700)
Whole House Water Filtration Systems are loaded with the
same NSF®
certified
high-grade water filtration media including PureCat™
small-granule Catalytic Virgin Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon
and PureCarbon™
medium-granule Virgin Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon.
Our system
design also incorporates the latest advancements in
filtration media technology and advanced media layering
techniques to maximize water filtration and prevent water
channeling. The
PureMaster V-Series
Whole House Water Filtration Systems are designed to be
used for: 300,000 gallons or
3 - 5 years for the V-300; 500,000 gallons or 5 - 7 years
for the V-500; and 700,000 gallons or 7 - 10 years for
the V-700. |
Stage
1 (Pre-Filtration):
The sediment prefilter uses a replaceable cartridge
that mechanically filters copepods,
cysts and sediment and/or particulate matter down to 0.35-microns.
This important first stage filters the sediment or
particulate that may be present in the water supply so that it doesn't clog the main filter and reduce water
flow and/or filter life. Another key benefit to
0.35-micron prefiltration is that it removes the smaller
matter and particles that would otherwise either clog the
system or pass through and possibly be undesirably
consumed. |
Stage
2
(Macro Filtration):
Contains PureCarbon™ which is a high-grade,
medium-granule NSF®
certified Virgin Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon
for additional absorptive capacity of
certain particulate, impurities and a wide range of contaminants.
|
Stage
3 (Micro Filtration):
Contains PureCat™ which is a high-grade,
small-granule NSF®
certified Catalytic Virgin Coconut Shell Granular Activated Carbon
for additional absorptive capacity of certain
impurities and contaminants. PureCat™
has an expanded surface and porosity which provides
extremely high reaction kinetics and absorptive capacity for
a wide array of many other undesirable impurities and contaminants. |
|
|
Down-Flow vs. Up-Flow Design:
The PureMaster
V-Series'
Down-Flow design does not require backwashing and is superior to
many of our competitor's Up-Flow designs because of our NSF®
certified
high-grade
media,
tank-wide base-screen and advanced media layering technique.
The PureMaster is uniquely engineered with an advanced tank-wide
base-screen technology that outperforms bottom-basket technology by
leaps-and-bounds and allows the water flowing down through the
system to have even-distribution and maximum contact time with our media bed layers without channeling. This
superior capability is unmatched by the Up-Flow design offered
by many of our competitors because of the limiting functionality
of their older riser-tube and basket technology. Customers
can truly buy with confidence knowing that they will enjoy
insignificant water pressure-loss and maximum contaminant reduction
from our PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 water
systems.
|
Q:
How often should I change the 0.35-micron prefilter on my PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
system?
A: Approximately every
6 to 8 months, depending upon the actual amount of sediment or
particulate matter present in your water supply. Because the 0.35-micron prefilter
(white in color when first installed) is in
a clear screw-on prefilter canister, it can easily be visually checked
for dirtiness or build-up of sediment or particulate matter.
Typically, when a 0.35-micron prefilter is extremely dirty, there will be
a noticeable drop in water pressure through the PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
system since
the water is no longer able to properly flow through the 0.35-micron
prefilter.
Q: Does
the PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™ system
remove COPEPODS from the water?
A: Yes. Since COPEPODES range from 30
microns to 50 microns in size, the PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
0.35-micron
(sub 1-micron) prefilter will
remove the COPEPODS. This method of COPEPODS filtration is
approved based on the article found at http://www.oukosher.org
via the below link:
http://www.oukosher.org/index.php?/articles/single/ou_fact_sheet_on_nyc_water_august_13_2004/
Q: How
much space does the complete PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
installation typically require?
A:
The
PureMaster™ V-300™ requires
minimal installation space, an area approximately
48” high x 36” wide x 10” deep.
The V-300 tank size is 8" diameter x 44" height
(9.5" at black base/stand).
The
PureMaster™ V-500™ requires
minimal installation space, an area approximately 48” high x 36” wide x 12” deep.
The V-500 tank size is 10" diameter x 44" height
(11.5" at black base/stand).
The PureMaster™ V-700™ requires
minimal installation space, an area approximately
60” high x 36” wide x 12” deep.
The V-700 tank size is 10" diameter x 54" height
(11.5" at black base/stand).
Q: Where
should the complete PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
system be installed?
A:
The
PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
system is a Point-of-Entry (POE) system, or whole-house/whole
home system, and is usually installed, just after the water meter, in
your basement, garage, or water heater closet. NOTE:
The water meter is usually located in the basement of the house. In
warm weather climates, the water meter may be in the garage or outside
of the house. If the PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
system is installed outdoors in warm
weather climates, it should be adequately shaded to prevent excessive
sunlight/heat exposure.
Q: How
difficult is it to install the complete PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
system?
A: The
PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
system will be shipped
Pre-Assembled (tanks come pre-loaded with special media) and
Ready-To-Install which greatly simplifies the installation process
and significantly reduces installation time and cost.
The installation of the PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™ system, using the included installation
instructions, is simple and straight-forward and system
can be performed by the home-owner or anyone with very basic
plumbing experience to
insure proper installation necessary to validate the system warranty. Also, you or your plumber may contact our
knowledgeable Customer Service & Support Representatives, if any
questions arise regarding the installation or maintenance of your
PureMaster™ V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™ system.
Q: How
much does it cost to install the complete PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™ system?
A:
The PureMaster™
V-300™,
V-500™, or V-700™
system
can be installed by the home-owner or anyone with very basic
plumbing experience to
insure proper installation necessary to validate the system warranty.
The typical PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
installation time is 1-2 hours and costs approximately $150 to $250
(NOTE: Actual cost ultimately depends upon your local plumbing
rates and fees).
Q: How
much maintenance is required for my PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™ system?
A:
Typically,
the only maintenance required for the PureMaster™ V-300™, V-500™,
or V-700™ system is
0.35-micron
prefilter replacement. The
PureMaster™ V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™ system is designed to be virtually maintenance-free for the
life of the system.
Q: How
do I replace my existing PureMaster™ V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™ system after it is used up?
A: Some companies in the marketplace burden the
consumer with the difficult, time-consuming and potentially costly
task of empting the old, dirty media from the used-up system tank,
sanitizing the system tank for health-concerns and pouring in new
media. Ultimately, we save you health and plumbing risks, time,
hassle and money by offering you a completely new Ready-To-Install
replacement system. The PureMaster™ V-300™, V-500™, or
V-700™ system
easily replaces any older V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™ systems.
It
is a simple matter of swapping out the old PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
system "blue
tank unit" with the new, Pre-Assembled (tanks come pre-loaded with
advanced, special layered media) PureMaster™
V-300™, V-500™, or V-700™
replacement system "blue
tank unit". The PureMaster™
V-300™,
V-500™, or V-700™
replacement system
can be installed by the home-owner or anyone with very basic
plumbing experience to
insure proper installation necessary to validate the system warranty.
The
typical PureMaster™ V-300™,
V-500™, or V-700™
system replacement time is
about 1 hour and
costs approximately $75 to $150 (NOTE: Actual cost ultimately depends
upon your local plumbing rates and fees). |
Historically,
we have not offered the Replacement Media option.
However, for some customers it is an appropriate option so we
are now offering it, but, we want to alert consumers about the
realities of the Replacement Media option (i.e., one or
more bags of replacement media).
It is important to know that the proper process of emptying the tank,
tank cleaning and disinfection, and pouring or layering of media is a
laborious, time consuming and challenging process. The
following aspects must be considered before choosing the
Replacement Media Option:
1) Expired unit may weigh well over 100 pounds, with water and
saturated media, making it very challenging for
the average person to handle and manipulate when performing the
proper media replacement process;
2) If a plumber or handy-person with basic
plumbing experience is paid to handle the complete media
replacement process, the consumer should be prepared to pay for
an extra 1 to 2 hours of labor cost;
3) Unit must be properly emptied, cleaned and
disinfected;
4) Rubber gloves should be used to avoid direct
skin contact with expired media which may contain concentrations of
certain contaminants which are unhealthy for human contact;
5) Careful attention must be exercised to prevent
the introduction of bacteria and other contaminants into the
unit during the refill process;
and
6) Replacement Media must be properly poured
and layered into the unit to insure effective water filtration
performance.
Therefore, we generally do not recommend the Replacement Media
approach for everyone. Instead, we provide our existing customers with
a Pre-loaded and Ready-to-Install
Replacement Unit that can quickly and easily replace their old
unit simply by sliding out the old and sliding in the new with
our easy PVC connectors.
The best aspect of our Replacement Unit approach is that the
home-owner or anyone with very basic plumbing experience can handle the simple replacement process;
they can also have great confidence that when the process is completed that their new
Replacement Unit will work properly
without any of the previously mentioned potential challenges.

Customer Testimonials:
We realize that the best measure of a successful product is when our customers are completely satisfied with the overall quality, performance, reliability and support. We appreciate and respect the needs of every customer and always strive to meet or exceed their expectations with every product we offer. The following customer reviews are just a small sampling of the many verbal or written reviews we receive on a daily basis.
"We bought the EQ-300 system 5+ years ago. It has worked great. It can be installed yourself but unless you're handy, it's best to call a plumber for a few hundred dollars (I hate wasting my Saturdays on things I know nothing about). Well, we needed a new system as the EQ-300 was "spent", so we upgraded to the PureMaster V-700 system. I even brought the plumber back out again to modify the installation to the larger V-700 unit and glad I did (I'm just not that handy w/ plumbing). We had researched all the other systems and found them to be wasteful (ie: RO) and still allowing microbes, etc into the water. Can't say enough about it."
Ray P., Indianapolis, Indiana (IN)
"I replaced a different whole house water system, that had been in place for 12 years , with your PureMaster V-700 system, you have a great product. Thank you for making it affordable. "
Oscar G., Dallas, Texas (TX)
"I installed the PureMaster V-700 about four months ago along with the HardnessMaster water softener/conditioner and so far love that taste of my water and the fact that stains in toilets etc. are going away."
Susan S., Atlantic Beach, Florida (FL)
"After using several other types and kinds of water filters I finally decided to spend the extra dollars to install the PureMaster V-700. After 3 months of use now I am incredibly happy with the results I’m seeing. I should have done this a long time ago and am completely satisfied beyond my expectations. Thank you for the follow up."
Mark P., Seabrook, Texas (TX)
"Thank You for following through on the shipment ... the Pure Master V-700 arrived last Friday. The PureMaster V-700 was installed this week and I can tell you that I'm finally enjoying good water to drink from my sink!"
Lori E., Apollo Beach, Florida (FL)
"We had the EQ-300 (bought in 2006) for about 6.5 years and now upgraded to the PureMaster V-700 and FluorideMaster systems. A great product that was straight-forward to install and our water tastes the best ever! Thanks again for continuing to sell these products. Compared to some of the other whole-house units out there, these are a bargain."
Pablo M., Shawnee, Kansas (KS)
"I purchased the PureMaster V-500 on May 29, 2012 but did not get it installed until Oct 11, 2012. Since installation we can tell the difference in the water. My wife was unhappy with our old filter (7 yrs old) because it made tea and coffee black. The PureMaster V-500 filter has corrected this and she is now pleased with the new filter. Also the ease of replacing the old filter was very easy, especially for an 85 year old. I was told all fitting from the old filter would fit and that made it easy.
Pleased with new filter,"
George C., Fouke, Arkansas (AR)
"I have been thoroughly impressed by the improvement in water quality after installing my filter. I was also impressed by the personal attention I received after ordering my filter. Before my PureMaster V-500 filter was shipped, I was contacted by phone by a representative from Vitasalus regarding my particular situation to make sure my conditions would be remedied."
RV User
"The PureMaster V-300 is an excellent product. The PureMaster V-300 was very easy to install and worry-free operation. I have been using the EQ-300 product for 6 years and just ordered the PureMaster V-300 as a replacement system."
Ray R., Ottawa, Ontario (ON), CANADA
"The Vitasalus PureMaster V-750 Whole House Water Filter System is like Magic! The PureMaster V-750 really works just like in the description!!! A+"
Max B., Fayetteville, North Carolina (NC)
"Just finished installing my PureMaster V-750 Whole House Water Filtration System. WOW, what a difference this unit makes in the quality of our water. I'll be telling everyone I know about your great product. Thanks again."
Joseph C., Port Penn, Delaware (DE)
"What an incredible difference. After installing a PureMaster V-750 myself (very easy), the difference in water quality is immediate. I can see why no other company wants to compare their over-priced products to yours! There is NO Chloramine smell that was overpowering before. I am 100% satisfied, and what a pleasure dealing with your expert techs and reps. I would recommend this product to everyone."
Dennis A., Memphis, Tennessee (TN)
"Recently purchased the PureMaster V-750 whole house water filter and am very pleased with the difference in our water quality...Thanks!"
David H., Bear, Delaware (DE)
"I recently purchased a Pure Master V-750 system...The system is working very well. Thank you."
Arthur D., Anderson, South Carolina (SC)
"Installed the V-750 system on the main water line last June 16th., the difference in taste and clarity of the water is quite surprising...very satisfied with the product. Expecting acceptable water for the next ten years."
Charles E., Green Valley, Arizona (AZ)
"We have lived in a very rural setting for the last 15 years. Our spring, which is very productive, has always been unusable for drinking or cooking due to poor taste caused by brine and other byproducts of oil and gas wells adjacent the property. I had been hauling gallon jugs of water from my workplace for all these years. Then we bought the incredibly affordable PureMaster V-750 whole house filtering system. At a fraction of the cost of a reverse osmosis system, this unit has transformed this horrible water into good tasting water that can be accessed from our tap. We can't tell you how pleased and amazed we are at the transformation that has occurred as a result of the installing of this extremely affordable and effective system!"
Kyle D., Malta, Ohio (OH)
"The PureMaster V-750 whole house water filtration system works fine and the water is absolutely wonderful. Thank you again."
Ioanis P., New York, New York (NY)
"We moved to a home with water supplied by the local municipality. The water smelled to high heaven of chlorine (as if someone had filled the sink with bleach) and we vowed not to move in until we found a way to take the chlorine out of the water. The water was also very saturated with particulate matter. We purchased and installed the Premium Whole House Water Filtration System and have not smelled the slightest hint of chlorine or seen any particulates in the water at all. Thanks again."
Arthur G., Baldwin, Georgia (GE)
"Dear John, The Equipment is installed and is delivering unbelievable results. We can't thank you enough for all the help and the amazing water purification system."
Joan S. Engelhard, NC
"Dear John and Nick:
It's amazing the crud that is getting filtered just in the first stage. We have no more chlorine smell in the shower; the water feels and smells fresh and clean."
Herm K. Allendale, MI
"I recently installed the V-750 and am very pleased with the change in water taste, no more chlorine taste smell etc THANK YOU!"
William V.
"We purchased a V-750 filtration system earlier this year. We are extremely pleased, with it's performance. Our skin looks great after bathing, we don't have to pinch our noses while drinking a glass of water, and our food is much more tasty. A million thank you's,"
Jacqueline R.
